Land of the Dwarves (Beach)

It is another favourite of mine. This place has its own atmosphere as well and offers lots of quests, there are funny characters, exciting and comic adventures. Discovering the Land of the Dwarves is full of actions. However, you can reach the Beach by teleporting here from Etherea using the ancient portal, or simply walk to the sea from the Cannibal jungle.

The oblivion potion

Quest giver: Portiz
Type: companion

Entering the Dwarves' Land after Etherea, your friend Portiz turns to you for help. He still doesn't give up to conquer her former lover's heart. As far as he knows, the dwarves have a potion that blots out a certain memory which one wishes to forget. He could use this potion to make her beloved forget about her fiancé's killing. Thus she may fall in love with him. Portiz asks you to help him collect the ingredient: 5 Flying fish scales and 5 Eyes of the marsh cartographer. You don't have to be afraid of these strange designations. The flying fish is not other than the "bigger brother" for the marsh Piranha, the Wild Piranha (only one slash or iceball is enough to kill them)! :-) They live a few steps away from the Dwarf village, or you can find some more ones further to north still on the beach. You may slay all of them for "free experience", but only five of them will drop scales. And the "Marsh cartographer" turns out to be the Reaper that you can find anywhere on this place hiding in the sand. But its feeler always reveals the Reaper. I must note that Portiz tells about these two types of ingredients, but in the Quest log only the Flying fish scales are shown. After collecting everything Portiz denotes right away that he can now brew the potion. (I collected the eyes first and after that the scales. After finishing the task, the eyes remained in my inventory, so I don't know if there are really needed for the quest.)

Make a potion out of the paste

Quest giver: Portiz
Type: companion

After Portiz brews the oblivion potion, he compains about its disgusting appearance. He is a bit unsure about he did everything right. He want to return to Meliwik, or rather to his apprentice - because he's not in good relationship with Meliwik - and make the goblin check this potion. (It's quite interesting though, that it's a potion of the dwarves, but he asks for help from a goblin?!) So head for Disttroy. The apprentice says the potion is all right, only it has to be made a bit drinkable. He adds some raspberry concentrate to it which makes the drink consumable in a few minutes. And here comes the point! You and Portiz are starting an argument on the taste of the potion. According to him it smells like apple, then plum. You adhere to the raspberry though, and when you can't convince him, you suggest Portiz to make sure by himself. He tastes it (!) and agrees with the raspberry at last. Now both of you can leave for the bride, but he asks back: what bride? He forgot everything! :D Of course he not only forgot his bride, but your mission as well and the reason why you were here! Never mind that, throw away the potion and let's go further!

To the rescue of the old dwarf

Quest giver: Maxipock
Type: main quest

Maxipock, the leader of the Holy Guardians is in fact an old drunken dwarf. He forgot even the way how he gets to the Land of the Crystals. The only person who does remember all that is Melderax, but he was kidnapped by the pirates. To free him you have to kill a gigantic Octopus. This octopus is a mechanical device using freezing attach and having ice protection. After you defeat it, find Melderax, he's nearby, follow the yellow arrow.

Note: if Morka is with you, it's worth completing her quest together with this one because the young Will is in this cave, too.

The large crystal and the little key

Quest giver: Melderax
Type: main quest

After freeing Melderax and a long-lasting attempt to make him talk, he'll let you know where you can find the Large crystal - which hides the key - before Von Skromel gets his hands on it. You will find it in the far north and have to fight a huge Crystal spirit. (In the proper cave when you reach the crossroad from where you can see your goal, turn left to a path leading downwards. That will make a "turn-back", and then choose the zig-zag path right and up.)

Help Zarl Lagerfold the weaver

Quest giver: Zarl Lagerfold
Type: secondary quest (reward)

Zarl would like to charm the ladies with a new design and for that he ordered some gems, but his distributor was eaten by a monster. He asks you to bring him 15 Hearts of Crystal beings from the Land of Crystals. You can gain these only from the normal size Crystal beings. In return you'll get some stuff, and you'll be able to agree with him to exchange certain lower materials to a medium one.

Iris has disappeared

Quest giver: Sticzky
Type: secondary quest (reward)

Sticzky is looking for his sister. Their family was cursed: if they separate, they become blind, but when they are together, they have the gift of clairvoyance. Since Iris now went out alone to collect buruba roots, they both are blind. Help him with finding the girl. Go to the sign, you will find a Buruba there, talk to him.

A favour for Buruba

Quest giver: Buruba
Type: secondary quest

When you get to the Buruba and talk to him, he'll let you know he's tired of being exploited by everyone. The cannibals cut in his bole, flay his bark, the dwarves cut his roots, and the monkeys eat his leaves. In the end you can agree with him to destroy the monkeys if he lets the girl go. Do that, go to the singed place not far from there, slash 5 monkeys and return to the Buruba.

The corruption of Buruba

Quest giver: -
Type: secondary quest

Well, when you hand over the monkeys' heads to him, he laughs at you and crate little Damned tree dragons from their blood. To get back Iris, you have to kill the Evil Buruba. When it's done, Iris appears.

All is well with Iris

Quest giver: Iris
Type: secondary quest

Speak with her just to make sure she's all right. Agree with her to meet them in the village. Go back and talk to Sticzky.

Horror and Abomination

Quest giver: Sticzky
Type: secondary quest (reward)

After Iris returns to Siczky, they grant you a vision. They see a nameless horror what serves the Death, and you have to face that thing. However, this Namless atrocity, is not other than a huge flying necroraider, with what you will encounter in the far north in the upper Crystal cave.

A mysterious spectre

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest

When you get to the northern area of the Dwarves' Land, make sure you have Inniada's stone tablet. With this item go to the altar (green spot - if you click on Inniada's quest in the Quest log), and invoke the text written on it. A spectre and appears, Samanru, the summoner of the past, the guardian of the Gods' Arena and presenter of the fights. Talk to him and the quest is over.

Arena, act 1

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest (reward)

If you are ready to fight, he opens the Arena for you. This battle he gives you free, but for the other ones you'll have to pay the price. Enter the cave, defeat the raggle-taggle enemies. What they drop are yours - this is the reward. In the Arena you'll find usually Champion-type creatures, or - in the last battles - Boss creatures. The more you fight, the higher level will be the enemy.

Ingredients for the arena

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest

The main point is to give him 1 Large scale to present you the next fight. So do it and go.

Arena, act 2

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest (reward)

It's clear: go into the arena, fray into the battle, collect the items they drop and get back to Samanru.

Ingredients for the arena

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest

For the third battle Samanru will need 2 Sparkling gems. Give them to him if you have. If you haven't got any, you should defeat some enemies to gain some.

Arena, act 3

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest (reward)

You know what to do: arena, fight, stuff, Samanru.

Ingredients for the arena

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest

This time Samanru needs 1 Bead of crystal mercury to present the fourth battle. Bet you have at least one, so shrug that off onto him and head for the Arena.

Arena, act 4

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest (reward)

Arena, kick in the mouth, stuff, Samanru.

Ingredients for the arena

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest

The ingredients are: 1 Perfect bar of steel, 1 Magic gem.

Arena, act 5

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest (reward)

You get to a milestone: this is the highest level ever been reached. Only one person, a dwarf could get out of the Arena alive at this point, but he didn't go further. Of course your task is the same as before: arena, destruction, collection, Samanru.

Ingredients for the arena

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest

Samanru gets tougher... The ingredients are: 1 Bead of crystal mercury, 1 Magic gem, 1 Perfect scale, 1 Fragment of Ivory.

Arena, act 6

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest (reward)

One last time: arena, fight, stuff, Samanru. (Or not the last time?)

Ingredients for the arena

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest

The unimaginable reward Samanru spoke of is not other than the opportunity, that you repeat the seventh battle as many times as you wish. Of course for presenting that fight he will need materials, too. But it's worth trying this at least once. Ingredients: 1 Piece of living wood, 1 Strong silk.

Arena, act 7

Quest giver: Samanru
Type: secondary quest (reward)

During the seventh level battles you always have to face a Boss enemy. He puts in randomly one of the Bosses you had to fight during your adventures (e.g. Heart of the Bramble). If you need some experience, Samanur will always welcome you, in case you have the above mentioned materials. You gain a considerable amount of experience points by killing a monster like this - in a short time.

Was thinking on grabbing SF and SF:EA on Steam if they pop up during winter sale. Since last time I played was almost 7 years ago and maybe dig in game code once more and see if I could reverse engineer some stuff while at it. Maybe 3.5 years at uni were something. smiley

Yeah. It's sad... I should upgrade this site for a new joomla or something. Then people could register again, and perhaps the life would rise again here... I'm just lack of free time to do that.

Did you check the requirements? Perhaps it doesn't show, because it's not proper size (kb or pixs).
